We perform field inspections of wind assets including walk downs, UAV blade inspections, end of warranty inspections, life extensions and much more.

Apart from our wind turbine work, Mech-V has long-term experience in the application of RDS-PP coding for new and existing wind energy projects, both On-shore and Off-shore. We provide consultancy services to clients undergoing asset data management projects and assist them in the implementation of RDS-PP for their renewable assets.

Job description

Mech-V Limited has an exciting opportunity for a driven and dynamic individual. We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our team to work with us on a large RDS-PP projects. This will be a remote desk based position (mostly working from home) with a small amount of periodic travel (within the EU). If this sounds like your cup of tea then continue reading!

This position will require a significant amount of in-depth work, with you immersed in spreadsheets, technical drawings, technical texts, and other data sources. The position would be ideal for an experienced engineer with strong computer skills and a technical interest or leaning.

Communication and education is an important sub-role of this position. You will be expected to represent Mech-V Limited when you communicate with an international team of highly experienced engineers. As many of our clients are are unfamiliar with RDS-PP, you will need to educate them on its capabilities and applications.

About You - what we are looking for.

Describing our ideal candidate, we'd say, you are innately technically minded and have the ability to quickly absorb new information. You are the type of person that is motivated and energised by dissecting and understanding how things work.

Furthermore, you are data-driven and analytically minded and are extremely comfortable working with, extracting, manipulating and analysing large volumes of information.

Not only that, but you are a ninja-level expert when working with spreadsheets, and you have the skills to exploit the full data analytics capabilities of software packages such as Excel.

You would need to be very comfortable working with all types of technical documentation, whether that be technical drawings, electrical or mechanical drawings, flow processes or technical text.

It would be essential that you are able to spend a large amount of time working autonomously. You have an eye for detail and have the ability to recognise anomalies in the data that you are working with.

Ideally, you will have real-world experience in an engineering role, preferably in the energy sector. Also essential to this role is existing working knowledge of RDS-PP/PS standards, whether that is from working directly with the coding or working within and RDS-PP/PS environment.

Salary Hours and Location

The role will be for 40 hours a week, working on a moderately flexible schedule. We are a small company, so we can be responsive to the needs of our staff as required.

We are based in Cork, Ireland, but you can work from anywhere but preferably in the EU.

An important note: This will primarily be a remote working position. It is essential that you have a suitable location to carry out deep desk work.

The salary for this role will be approximately 80k per annum.
