Check for damage from transit and storage

Transportation, storage and handling of wind turbine components such as blades, gearboxes, converters etc. can lead to damage occurring prior to the wind turbines even being constructed. We can perform equipment receiving / component inspections to validate that your components are being appropriately managed and protected during this period. We can also perform a detailed examination and investigation of any damage which may have occurred during this time.

Importance of Secure Storage and Handling

Components can spend a long time in storage and on route to their final destination. These require appropriate protective measures and good care during this time. Damage is not just picked up through physical transportation but quite often simply from environmental factors when stored at ports or on-site awaiting construction.

Should you require it, our inspectors can verify:

• That the equipment being delivered is as per the correct specification
• Is undamaged from transport or handling
• Is correctly stored and protected from environmental effects
• That your components are receiving the correct maintenance en route (such as gearboxes & bearings being turned regularly, etc.)
